I’ve been on SUCH a wild inventure lately. Someday I’ll tell you all about it, but for now I want to tell you where I’ve ended up: washed up on a far-off shore called Substack. It’s here that I’ve realized Wild Inventures wants to make its home.

I’m going to step back and introduce myself, for those who don’t remember anything about what this is or why we’re here.

Who are you and what are we doing here?

I’m Rowan Mangan, aka Ro, aka “The Gracious Badger,” and my pronouns are she/her. Originally from Australia, I now make my home between a forested mountainside in Pennsylvania and a high rise apartment in New York City. My two partners and I are co-parents to a wild and hilarious toddler named Lila.

Along with my wife, Martha Beck, I make the podcast Bewildered, which is all about finding our way back to nature—our own true nature—and away from the negative impacts of the culture around …
